so after five years of prospecting, going up and down them mountains, hills, and valleys... im still not sitting on a pot of gold. but im close, iv narrowed down the area. as the guys around me break out into laughter, its the same old story...."aint found it yet, but im CLOSE" ya gotta laugh about it.

1. so im water proofing my combat boots and laces, and do any repair that needs done on them. same with my fire fighting boots, good quality insoles, over-all good shape.
2. thick good quality cotton socks preferably knee high, x6 pair. x6 winter wool socks.
3. thermal johns,x6 tops and bottoms, long sleeve, good quality, cotton.
4. long sleeve thick weeve plain shirts,x6
5. good durable denim oversized pants,x3, good durable combat pants,x3
6. large hoody, thick knit. a thick but light weaght wool over coat, combat jacket to cover.
7.thermal head mask, safety glasses, bush hat
8.mechanix gloves, winter gloves, neoprene/cotton gloves.
9. knife belt, magnesium bar, multi tool, bear banger, compas, para cord wrap.
10.lg field back pack on frame, may or may not contain some or all of an extensive list depends what your task and purpose.....sewing kit, water filtration method, first aid trauma kit, basic first aid, communication form, signal plan method, folded 20ft by 20ft poly, 100ft para cord, wool blanket, sleeping bag, hygene kit, three days food and water to seven days food and water with cache. fishing kit, snare wire and trap kit, 22. small game, snow shoes with poles, axe and hatchet, soup pot, with utensils and mess kit.

well at least i have a camper to sleep in, so with protective shelter from the elements i start gathering my minning tools,

pick shovel, pry bar, sledge hammer, picking tools, rock hammer, buckets, screen material, extra wing nuts and hoses for my high banker, extra parts including oil and fuel for generator, trash pump, and chainsaw. sharpening tools for equipment and tools, field and trail ribbon, reflective spray paint, small and medium mechanical tool set, "o" ring set, zip-ties, roll of binder wire.

hand mining tools would be like a screen pan, gold pan, hand shovel, long picking tool, tweezers, gold vile, snifter bottle, eye piece magnifier, watch and compass..or as basic as picking up rocks for samples, or field bags for soil samples,

with my list together i go now to my truck, check all joints, connections, moving parts, wear and tear stresses, lights all work and function properly, fluid levels, wire connections, fuse condition, check for extra fuses aand spark plugs. tire pressure, spare tire condition, jack and tools. extra truck battery,

things do get a little to much sometimes, so when i think im done ill sit down and go over my notes, ill go back and check my list, or read some old journal entries for clues or hints to how i can do it better. what i found very effective was writing the temp and weather patern in joirnal, then when i sit back today and read four years ago today it rained six inches... beware theres rain coming..maybe.
anyway it works, friends often joke im writing a book, and yes i am. for my kids, my friends, and family...for futer generations to carry the flame.

thats what iv been up to last couple of days, right around this time of year... getting ready for march and hitting the mountains prospecting once again. this year i have new snow shoes oh-ya...daddy is happy now.
