looking for any intersted folks to hit the bush inB.C. to establish a camp this year.

ya im going out to the bush. im setting up a base camp for general use, camping, pic-nics, fishing, in general just a place to get away. my plan is to eventualy have it set up so folks can live off the grid, self sufficient, and help each other. the first year is basic, we find out what we need or want, and set up a basic camp. the second year we set up and flag pathways, roads, and figure out where and how to get utility's to places. meanwhile, we learn other important crafts of living in the bush. information will be taken down and put into a journal, for futer referance and history. the ultimate goal will be for everyone to have a home and plot of land to live on, a community group for assistance and support, a society{yet to be determined} to back its members. after the ball is rolling it will grow. i need ground floor folks to step out with me, others interested in a better way and looking for something more that we cant find in todays lifestyle....hmmm..
the mountains of British Columbia...somewhere. if any from B.C. are reading this and have any suggestions...please post here... this summer is the beginning.

  1. i guess i didnt realy say how long the first trip will be, or anything. this first trip will be about a month or so, just to set up and prep the basics. the area hasnt been decided, depends on soil, wildlife fishing etc etc. then we start in order of importance. also designing a water pureification system, and a power source. a command post with communication, school material and hospital supplies.
im kinda jumping all over, but universaly it sounds good. so off to do testing and research. all others that are interested or have comments please feel free to post.

  2. here i sit, dec 2011.
well a buddy from vancouver came out, with his son. we met up with a cousin, and then another cousin. at one point my 7 yr old was with us too. so the group of 6 was nice and cut down on individual chores, but sometimes you had to do things in shifts. the dry out shack held three grown men with room to change, the camper held three guys with room to eat. the one toilet i brought at times was occupied. and yes, a mistake or two was had by some. in the end the compatability was very good. in a long term survival situation individual space would be an asset. in stages, then there was four of us for awhile, then three, in the end i was alone for two months in the bush. you have to have a grip on your mind, but i dont mind the isolation. i think this is where most people have the need for interaction with other people, too quiet in the mind. i will say this though, a couple times i did wander, i was stalked by a pack of wolves, along the way another pack started howling, then a third, i went to camp and got the 22 hv hp and fired in their direction, it CRACKED over there heads and ran away. woo-hoo..the next morning i went looking for them on a long journey. i didnt find them, i wasnt going to shoot them just introduce myself as not prey. psychology in many ways...

  4. up-date. april 5 2012, still winter in the mnt's and valleys, looking at two weeks to a month untill it starts breaking up. i got hit with several problems at once, but i hope to be in B.C. within the month, maybe a coupe weeks. the flood gold this year will be better as last year was the once every 140 yr rain flood season. im betting that the watershed drops and its abnormaly dry this year, bringing river levels lower than in a long time. keep your eye on the water, make sure you always store extra folks. anyway the plan is to set up the highbanker this year, and get all the flood gold, then see about minning down to pay streak on the back of the claim, about 12 to 15 feet in-ground. im hyped about this year, got a few plans, either one or either way it promises to be a good year. in the meantime i got my gear tuned up and the tools packed, my bags by the door, so as soon as the car gets fixed im good to go, stay tuned.........
