Home-steading, survival-ism, prepareing for the futer by learning to co-exist with our environment. looking into edible and medicinal herbal, natural energy sources, living a finer more natural way of life. so im looking to network and co-ordinate with other like minded folks. if nothing happens to the earth then at least we have a camping spot, supplied equiped and good to go. also i have been looking into educational material for kids. feel free to commen, share, or re-post.
as an experiment i lived off the land for two months. it started when my buddy said to me..lets go into town and grab something to eat. "i said wait a minute! so anyway we decided to jump in just to see. we trained and studied while we lived..i should say ate off the land. its like 8 out of 10 people that die in the bush, die lying on top of food. thats a grim outlook but to the point. yup, from berries and roots, tubers and bulbs, grass and flowers, to grubs and worms...fruit trees were a bonus and didnt last long. sure we went hungry sometimes, unless we went fishing or put on a large feed we usualy got hungry relativly shortly after eating. eventualy we broke nutrient value in food groups and mixed and matched diferent edible wilds together and found many variations of flavour. there it is, it worked one time and may work again...study and research... if your unsure of something, dont eat it. many species duplicate looks until they flower, like chives. carry a reference manual or someone who knows. dont take risks.
