Two Years ago...seems like yesterday and it was compared to ten years ago we started researching into the un-known.
FREE RANGE CANADIANS, is all of us, from you and me to everyone who has a will. to come together, assist each other for the betterment of our comunity, and fill that void so many of us feel today.
its an ideal, to a way of life, remember when you saw a hood up and you stopped to help, or folks fed the hungry, we all helped our neighbor build a barn, it goes on and on....
its not about whats in it for me, i am happy with what i have and am willing to share and help...so are you.
this is the beginning of the free range canadians network. in times of need back in the day, folks were called upon for internal support, a last line of defence or comunity suport, take statistics, bury the dead, gather intel, organize groups, train and practice for any unforseen need,
there was a common law of the land, a frontier justice where all peoples had the obligation to uphold law, a right as much as a responsability. as much as every person has a right to provide for and sustain the livlihood of their family, and every family should have the rights to the amount of land it would take to support the family.
it all goes without saying. it will be a long road. and the foundation starts now. by all means, drop a line or two, welcome aboard....

this is where it gets foggy for me. so im reaching out, i am contacting others on a simular path but am finding it very sparse out there. unless theres a group already operating or your affiliated with an existing group, i cant seem to find exactly what im looking for.
im not looking to join another group with different goals and philosophy, i feel im on the path meant for those of us who believe in common law of the land, we are patriotic and independant. hunters gatherers, frontiersmen and pioneers, a gathering of family and friends on a common ground under common law.
but that would be the sub-culture of the distinctive culture within a group or society.
so in a nutshell can anyone help with info or a direction? any personal experiance would be appreciated.

Here it is Oct 17, 2013, and since then iv spent 18 months up in the mountains. it was a huge learning curve with having my kids out there with me. id say just getting familular with the bush, learning to walk and breath. another important aspect is building your awareness to your surroundings and weather changes. all the while observe animal droppings and trails. safety comes first, dehydration and exposure, exhaustion and fatigue, all can happen before you know it. proper nutrition and hydration is our first line of defense.
so i was thinking about a homefront and thaught a tent or lean-to just wouldnt do. the first 6 months out i had a truck and camper and drove 10,000 miles through the ranges, up and down the valleys, visited old cemetarys and heritage sites, i really got a sense of the pioneers that led the way. by Sep 2011 i had a gold claim staked for 100.$...
With a means for employment and a reason to be there, this opens the door for a lease to occupy. allows for living on the land.
the second year i spent 6 months too. but i stayed in the area. learned some geology, survivalism, first aid, fitness tips, and brushed up on minning practices. i worked several claims, and done a whole lot of prospecting. unless you have a good pay streak in gold a second income is needed.

2. tree farm
3. vegetable farm
4. herbs, mushrooms
5. wild flower arangements
6. minnerals, aggragates
i supplimented my cash flow by working other claims for folks. usualy i get paid in gold or cash. id also work for folks who lived out there. doing yard work and firewood, and maybe a bit of maintenance.
Here it is now, Oct 17, 2013. i just got back after another six months. what a great year it was. ill jump right to it... we picked up a 26ft travel trailer, another gold claim that comes with a house garage shed and gravel pit. as well as a good solid mobile home. this claim costed 100$.darn near its own village.
theres so much more that happened, but in getting back to my blog..
alone in the bush your work load is bigger. in prepping an area for the home, establishing a water supply, securing your garden, maintaining supplys, it all adds up fast. the family unit really shines now, my wife takes care of the home, my son does the yard duty, and i do hunting and gathering. so to speak. this year several of us all worked together, it went great. much easier and smooth, cooperation is paramount.
so in creating some ideals for a new society, i needed to figure out some fundamental needs. as well as legal concerns. as yet the group is just a blog pg, but my interest is real. and my training is paying off. id like to expand my horizon and network together with other like minded folks.
my wife agrees.
for the last three years iv been talking with folks, meeting good people. we all have concerns in common, we all want a better way of life.

CARIBOO MNT tin can road hockey championship
how bout that? sounds fun, but wait...theres more! gold panning, hiking, fishing, road hockey in the mountains, camp fires and BBQ, were even thinking about getting donkeys and greased pigs.... all the while being settled in a pristine vally all our own....
friends and familys, neighbors and visitors... join the blog and open a discusion. send pm or respond.
this event is only in discusion, however i will be out there with my family and some friends and other family from time to time. so even if passing by, and you got a day or two... the plan is to prep campspots with firewood, grouped around a general area, with pottys for all.
im thinking a bush hockey, road hockey. the cousin is talking about gold mining competitions. for the family we thinking donkey rides, greased pig, tug-o-war, BBQ, sing alongs, tag, with an organized bush hike to an original gold strike.
the bonus of mining free hand is the rare earth minerals we have come accross from time to time. fossils compressed in clay, and ancient ocean shells at the top of a mountain.
so i'll leave it at that and open the discusion with ... WELCOME...

EXCELENT POSTS. im thankfull that someone is willing to talk about a bad experiance that happened unexpectedly. i realy pick up a lot reading between the lines, where he says its not the conventional war you'd think. more like attrition, blockade, embargo....and then try to survive with a city full of un-predictable desperate folks, who change and adapt to just survive. the little desicions are as important and dangerous as any, the psycological turmoil is huge...deciding to kill and actualy do it would be easy, deciding you didnt want to kill him after he's dead would be a very altering experiance. i met a few guys who done this, they were very un-caring how reckless they became after awhile. they changed.
i listen to what you say are the money makers for trade, keep food and water staples seperate and hidden. always carry protection and communicate with your group, never go alone. and working deals and tradeing is on the spot learning, {i always look for a seargant of arms, or door man, lookout, to make first contact.} the act of "par-lay", where a group rep initiates willingness to barter and open a phase of co-operation whether bussiness or a mutual agreement. as with military folks, the underground has a chain of command, some have honor amongst thieves, but at the same time you have to always be on guard no matter what. once im inside i dont bother with the foot solder, i look for the captains. i think you have to calculate what you want, how bad, what you can say you have, and any other term in mind. as a practice i try to watch with my perifeal view while im looking at something, heightens awareness. fear is always present, but you can put it on the back burner to acomplish a goal.
a training manual i come accross was dedicated to voice commands, key words and agressive actions to sub-due the psychy, dominate psycologicaly. the initial contact would be quik, un-caring, and decisive. i studied that manual and learned a lot about the extent police forces have. military has same bassis, special agresion training. its best not to challenge in any way these guys.
sounds like im saying everything you did, and i guess i am. i also hear you say dont doubt, dont hesitate, if you think your in danger, you probly are. seems like you realy have to find your own quiet spot, safe place to keep your mind focused. somewhere to sort the negative feelings into survivor instinct. having your guard up 24/7 would be nerve wracking. instantly i see the benefit of being with family. and from what im hearing, its the only way to find a piece of sanity in your down time. i am trying to get all my family into prepping now, iv forwared your link to them as well, its a story worth telling. and learning from.
i have faced life and death, lived on both sides of the fence, and can sit back with my wife and kids now, knowing im in a good place in my heart, i took care of all my doubts and regrets, payed it forward and always support the under-dog. but nothing like SHTF... all rules change, nothing is black and white, but the more i learn from you the more i may be able to recognize some changes.
Vilna Ab. {canada is just over 100 years old, we just got our flag in the 60's, i think we've yet to experiance the situation you speak of}. thanks again for your insight.
