Medicinal Uses

Medicinal Uses.
.
bear with me, 7000 edible and medicinal plants...
cant go wrong. thats a whole lot of plants for the dinner table and for the doctor too. we dont need most of what we get from doctors and hospitals. prevention is the best form of recovery.
i been reading a lot about plants lately. and have decided compile my edible and medicinal library for north american foliage.
during ww2 in england flower beds were full of edible herbs and such, even weeds were harvested for there value. it seems we lost our knowledge and are again seeking answears from other sources. i dont know how many times someone tells me about a plant to eat, and they go on to say they dont know what it looks like. which is the case so much these days.
...
grow edible flowers, dandelion and thistle are delicious, as is wild garlic and chives. the fields are full of food. but we must first learn to walk before we can get to them.
HOMESTEADERS FIELD MANUAL, BOOK 1 AND 2. this book tells us what to plant next to tomatoes or what goes next to corn, how to rotate crops to keep nutrients in the ground for next years garden.
what trees and shrubs to have bordering your property, how to make a natural fence, and plants and herbs that act as a natural bug deterent.
.
my problem is im not a carpenter. i can fake it but my quality isnt there. then the issue of tools and equipment. so i started looking for survival techniques for one person to be able to work alone. isolated in the bush, with a bit of engineering and a little creativity i should be able to make some sort of crane hoist to lift logs. anyway .....theres that.
. i can see a storm coming, our life style is changing, i dont think the direction we're going is good for the futer. FDA is sayin cows milk from the cow is dangerous, and local gardens may be outlawed, why? big corperations and government branches want to corner the food market. chock full of chemicals and stuff, pesticide and herbicide..... ready for you to ingest.
.
we can say NO! we can draw the line and employ many folks to harvest and collect raw wild food and medicinal plants. we can teach others to live off the land, how to live free.
..
there are many resources off the land as well, without exploiting to the point of extinction. by becoming stewards ourself, we can manage our environment.
each of us has a right,
we all have the ability,
everyone has instinct,
...
im just saying getting back to the land, mother nature, is only a direction. from there we will grow. it took me a month of living off the land to feel a difference. thats how long it took my body to shed reserves stored from the city and start depending on the edible wild i was eating. and i felt great! better than i have in many years. i couldnt believe the difference. it opened my eyes.
.
. i emerge from the banks of the river, soaking and dripping wet, settle down next to my fire, pull my stew pot out of the coals, and pluck some wild chives growing at the rivers edge... aaah...my dinner is ready. washed up, relaxed and full, sitting back i look towards the night sky for the finest show on earth...northern lights dancing before me in a symphony of light.
